Luke Dashjr is a renowned Bitcoin Core developer and creator of the Eligius Bitcoin mining pool which ran from 2011-2016 and captured 20% of the network hashrate. Luke relaunched the pool as OCEAN in late 2023 with the goal of bringing transparency and decentralization back to Bitcoin mining. Luke’s contributions to Bitcoin mining are vast, as Luke wrote the software that enabled many of the early GPU, FPGA, and ASIC miners to mine on the Bitcoin network including BFGMiner/cgminer, and Luke’s software is still a key component to this day.
